Full Schedule

I promise, I really haven't abandoned the blog.  Life's just been crazy and a lot is going on in my life.  As much as I love sharing stuff with you guys, the blog is a lower priority.  Don’t lose hope, though, I have all sorts of ideas for the blog playing around in this head of mine.

So, why am I posting a "blog post" about this instead of just leaving the blog sit until I have something to post for you all?  Well, two reasons.  Firstly, I thought this would be a good time to let you guys know about some of the things I’m planning for the blog.  Sort of a backstage pass type of thing, if you will.

Secondly, because I want to open the floor to you guys.  More on that later, though.  First, let's look at what I’m cooking up for the near future.

The first piece that should be coming out in a week or so is untitled, at the moment.  And while it may be untitled, don’t let that discourage you.  I’ve put a lot of thought into this one.  The post will center on the themes of sickness, the trial that that is, healing, and what Christ and Satan have to do with all of that.   Intrigued?  The idea for this blog post actually came about years ago, when I heard "If we just had more faith, we would not be ill.  Christ has healed us on the cross, and thus only Satan, and our lack of faith, can make us sick".  Having been bedridden for a portion of my life, I’ve done a lot of thinking on this subject, and I don't agree that my lack of faith is what brought about that time in my life.  Stay tuned for that post in the coming weeks.

Another piece which is in the works, and one that I am very excited about, is entitled "The King's Paupers".  This post will be about the controversial topic of Christians and possession.  Are we worldly if we have comfort?  If we have a TV or a Wii, does that make us sinful?  Or shouldn’t we put all of our extra money, and even money that our family needs, into ministries?  Having been on the receiving side of these comments, I can say I’ve thought about it.  And I have very strong, controversial views on it (shocking, I know).  So if you’ve ever wondered, or just want to see me rant and rave, then check back in a few weeks and see.

Ever wondered about how we should spend our Sabbath days, as Christians?  I have.  I have heard many arguments for not working on the Sabbath, not writing on the Sabbath, and not participating in anything that does not directly bring your mind to Christ on Sunday (which is not the Sabbath, guys, just as a reminder).  This blog post will touch on those topics and, I hope, give you some insight into aspects of this topic that you’ve never thought about.

In the foreseeable future I also hope to write a blog post about the fascinating biblical character, Deborah.  Who was this woman?  Was she an advocate for feminism in the bible?  I want to invite everyone to join me for an in-depth look at this incredible woman, and the part she played in God’s judgment over His rebellious people.

The last blog post that is floating around in the back of my mind is on the subject of "Meeting People Where They are At".  Is it biblical?  My answer may surprise you.

And that’s it folks.

Oh, wait, you are right, I am sorry, I did say there was a double reason for writing this post.  The second reason for me writing this post was to make an offer to you all.  While I do not pride myself in the fact that you all are dying to ask me questions, I do know that many of you have asked me to write posts centering around my thoughts on certain subjects.  In fact, some of the posts on this blog came from one of you asking me to make a public statement of my thoughts on the blog.

So, I am opening the floor to you all.  I want to hear if you all have anything you want me to write about.  I love to interact with the people who read my stuff (just ask my poor Beta Readers), so now is a chance for us to interact.  Is there something you’d like to hear my thoughts on?  Perhaps there is something I have said in a previous blog post that you had questions on.  Ask them!  You never know, my answer might be in the form of a blog post.

And requests and suggestions are welcome, so all you have to do is type them up in the comments section bellow.  And don’t worry, if you are shy and prefer no one know who it is that is asking the question, you can always leave the comment and select the anonymous option.

I look forward to your thoughts, and hope you all enjoy the blog posts to come.
